Australian Lock Company Launches New Series Alcom Lock
After three decades of successful manufacture and sales of the Aussie owned, BiLock cylinder series and series six plug, the Australian Lock Company has diversified its product base even further to become a true Australian owned, “door solutions” manufacturer and supplier.

The new range, which is fully compatible with BiLock, is known as Alcom and includes stainless steel mortice locks; architectural door range; general door hardware, door closers and a new, economical, Alcom C4 cylinder range.

Garry Etchells, Managing Director of Australian Lock Company said “ALCOM is the most awesome innovation for Australian Lock since BiLock, New Generation, Quick Change Core which now appears on installations world-wide.”

“ALCOM,” he added, “is a skillful amalgamation of the very best in design, quality, functionality and ease of use. Our Engineers have included features that perfect symmetry between simplicity and strength. Features that we are confident will not be easily replicated by others.”

“For instance, the Alcom 5000 mortice lock series has already been granted SCEC endorsement to ‘Secure area’ rating, a 4-hour fire rating suitable for use on all fire doors and has naturally been build to exceed Australian Standards AS4145.2.1993 level D3 durability and level S3 physical security”.

"this level of product security and integrity is in line with the tradition of quality innovation that has always been associated with Australia’s own lock cylinder manufacturer,” he concluded.

Australian Lock has clearly searched to find and incorporate the ideal aspects of existing mortice locks and door hardware design into these new ranges.

What about this for ease of use, the Alcom 5000 mortice lock allows you to change the handing of the lock without the removal of the lock case lid. Simple rotate the latch bolt.

You can also change handling from left hand to right hand without case disassembly.

In addition, a multi-functional case allowing for easy conversion of a vestibule function to a combination function is by simply turning the handing pieces.

To reverse the main latch bolt you simply rotate 180 degrees clockwise prior to installation of the finishing face plate.

The extensive range of functions was designed to be used in conjunction with the Australian standard oval cylinder and an optional feature is available to all applicable lock type function.

BiLock new Generation is a high security, Australian made locking system, made to suit everything from padlocks to gaming machines to filing cabinets. There have been several additions to the range in 2007.
